To Drink & Drive




As I sit here writing letters all through the night.

To politicians & charities to just show them what is right.

The responses that I get back are all the same.

And drunk driving should never be a game.

Do not put a face or a picture on, or the life that was killed.

We must put a stop to you, and your voice must be stilled.

For drinking while driving is going to be here to stay.

The money & revenue is too great, as for old laws and present we all say NAY.

Can not you see we are all doing what we can?

And drunk driving is not getting out of hand.

A life that is taken is a small price to pay.

Drinking while driving is going to be here to stay.

We can not take away the keys or the weapon of the crime.

We will send them to jail to do their time.

For 4 to 10 years should be enough to suffice.

To show them that we are not always naughty, but can be nice.

We will hand them back their keys, and send them for tests.

Then we can say to the victims of the crime, we done are best.

Please do not write me, and give me a rest.

For the old laws are written and still in our books.

They are not to be enforced but simply overlooked.

A life is a life, is what I still write and say.

To keep drunk driving going, it is too much to pay.

To see your friend or family member, lying on that slab.

While the drunk driver is sent to jail, and some sort of rehab.

My grand-daughter would have loved to speak these words to you.

“DRUNK DRIVING KILLS”!!!
